Stephanie Thiersch comprehends choreography not as a closed script, but as a field of encounter and negotiation in which dancers change the structure and thinking of the works themselves. Hosting becomes the motor of a responsible and open art practice that sees the body as a place of listening and resonance. With this in mind, she developed a performance of transition with the 16 students in their final year at the Folkwang University of the Arts. Inspired by constellations in the nature and their movement logic of plants in response to impulses, transformation and the environment, they explore the body as permeable, vibrating matter. Collective structures emerge, dissolve and reform. A transitional state, open to the intrinsic, the original and the unknown.

Hain:
14th century, used obsoletely for “grove, group of trees”, i.e. for a small forest or copse, cherished forest, in which deity is worshipped, but also means pleasure grove, then becomes a literary topos (with Goethe), already in antiquity with sacred and poetic connotations: one chose a piece of forest and dedicated it to a deity, sacred gatherings, feasts and consultations in groves, there one was invulnerable (Germanic tribes)
