blind questions – I see you me neither

A dance film performance (2009)

Performance:
The discussion about love is so old that it appears to be unfashionable – even though we never cease to talk about it, in chat shows, blogs and chats – and even though science has endeavoured to decipher its biological, chemical and neuronal structure. MOUVOIR’s response is a performance encompassing surreal film and live situations and spanning the juxtaposed elements of theatre, dance and song.

duration ca. 85 min.

FIlm:
A woman and a man in a bizarre hovel in an almost weightless room. An enigmatic encounter. They try to make love and are too fast or too lame, too much and go too far.

duration ca. 4 min.

The ability to productively transpose scepticism towards the alluring images and medial reality in an intelligent fashion without glorifying the assumed cathartic authenticity of the body was a feat accomplished by many artists performing at Temps d‘Images, not least of all by Cologne-based choreographer, Stephanie Thiersch, with her humorous premiere of “blind questions. Four magnificent artists on stage speak dialogues of hope and quarrels […].

Beguiling and enchanting refer the performer and the video again and again one on the other, even if sometimes you just see it at the flower sample of the wallpaper.

The Cologne Choreographer trusts thereby in „blind questions“ […] in words, sounds, six outstanding actors and in the contrast between stage area and film.
